Draft Formulary and MTUS Clinical Guidelines |

DWC POSTS DRAFT FORMULARY REGULATIONS AND PROPOSED UPDATED CLINICAL GUIDELINES - WILL IT BE ACOEM OVER ODG AND OTHER SOURCES?
Will the Division devote resources to building and maintaining its own, freestanding formulary?
Access the Division's proposed Formulary and MTUS clinical guidelines here. The DWC Forum comment period ends September 16, 2016. The DWC uses the Forum to solicit general comments regarding proposed regulations via email. This is not the formal rulemaking process.
Nevertheless, it is critically important that all physicians practicing occupational medicine in California read, understand and most importantly, comment to the DWC by sending an e-mail to DWCForums@dir.ca.gov.
The Division recently implemented new Chronic Pain and Opioid prescription guidelines. These two important components of the MTUS will soon be joined by the formulary and a limited number of clinical guidelines.
CSIMS URGES ITS MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS ALIKE TO GET INVOLVED
IN THIS PROCESS.
How well these guidelines work together and coordinate with one another is a decision that treating physicians at all levels must live with for years to come.
